South Australian contemporary jeweller Alice Potter finished her Bachelor of Visual Communications at the University of South Australia in 2004, and a Bachelor of Visual Arts [Jewellery Design] at Adelaide College of the Arts in 2006. This year she is completing her Honours in Visual Arts at the University of South Australia, and currently works from her bench as Program Manager in the internationally recognised Metal Design Studio at the JamFactory.
Alice's work is a mix of precious metals and non-traditional, found materials. Her pieces have a distinct focus on colour and form, with her design background showing through amongst the colour combinations and the placement of specifically chosen elements. From her simple jewellery works to her recent, more elaborate pieces, each is carefully designed and constructed to reflect art and design in everyday life as wearable art.
